Political Science is the king of social science, Aristotle, the Father of Political Science, called it as “master science”. It is the responsibility of the department of Political Science to translate these “Superb” views into reality, so the subject “could be regarded as” everybody’s subject, in as much as it is the every citizen irrespective of his profession, caste, religion, region and even nation.

The department of Political Science was established in 1968. The subject is offered in combination with Economics and Psychology. The basic aim of introducing the course was to enable students to take up careers in governmental services and public affairs. More number of foreign students is attracted towards this department as per the importance in their countries. With the introduction of Political Science as one of the subjects both in civil service examination of the UPSC and APPSC, the department has gained immense popularity among the students community.

The department has well qualified, committed and dedicated faculty. The faculty participated in various national and international seminars. The department involves the students in various activities like mock assembly, debate, discussions, quiz, elocution competitions etc. It offers special coaching to the students who appeal in various competitive examinations. Special attention is paid for the week students. The department moulds the students of Political Science as a good citizen of the country and enables them to guide their fellow citizen to build a healthy nation.

Department of Public Administration

The department of Public Administration was established in 1968. The subject is offered in combination with Economics, Political Science and Psychology. The basic aim of introducing the course was to enable students to take up careers in governmental services and public affairs. With the introduction of Public Administration as one of the subjects both in civil service examination of the UPSC and APPSC, the department has gained immense popularity among the students community.

The department of Public administration has an excellent faculty with exposure to public administration as a subject. The basic objective is to constantly re-invent itself in tune with changing as well as future needs of economy and society so as to impart skills, knowledge and leadership qualities among the students. The faculty gives guidance in the advanced areas of the subjects. It also conducts special classes for foreign students to cope up with Indian students. It also provides counseling for moulding of the character and to instill confidence among the students. The major objective is to better understanding of the nature, problems of Governance and Administration.

Department of Psychology

Psychology is a scientific way of studying behavior, experiences and mental processes and is a unique blend of biology , philosophy, anthropology , linguistics and sociology.. The department of psychology was introduced in 2011and is offered at the undergraduate level .Psychology is offered in combination with political science and public administration. The vision of our department is to foster academic excellent, imbibe values, to provide understanding to human behavior and the overall development of the individual.

The department has a well qualified staff and an independent furnished lab. The department equips the student to do well in both theory and practical papers.

Study of psychology helps us understand and determine how the mind and body of an individual works.After earning a psychology degree the student has wide range of career options which include Child Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Counseling Psychologist, Cognitive Psychologist, Developmental Psychologist, Educational Psychologist, Environmental Psychologist, Experimental Psychologist, Family and Marriage Therapist etc.
